“If children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”
When Queen Elizabeth II passed away, her son ascended the throne as king. There was never any doubt about who held the royal birthright to be the next monarch. The crown prince automatically takes the coveted place. As children of the King of kings and Lord of lords, we are royalty too. In today’s verse, Apostle Paul reminds us that we’re heirs of the Most High God and co-heirs with the Lord Jesus Christ.
We have a royal heritage – a birthright we automatically inherit when we’re born again. Our kingdom is not of this world, but our privileges are far beyond what the eye can see. Too often, we forget our royal lineage and behave like paupers. Our Father is the Master and Creator of the entire universe. That knowledge alone should help us inculcate a mindset of abundance rather than scarcity.
Even when you’re amidst suffering and pain because of your current circumstances, remember that you are more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ, who has vanquished evil. He will lift you out of the gloom and glorify His Name in and through your life. You will be a living testimony of God’s goodness and grace – His royal child, who’s in line for a glorious inheritance.
