Psalm 37:18-19 NKJV
The Lord knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
The verses for today begin with ‘The Lord knows’. God knows everything; there is nothing hidden from Him. He is the beginning and the end. Only the Creator knows the past, present, and future of every one of His creations.
When we look around, the wicked and evil-minded seem to be flourishing. It probably makes us wonder why God allows them to prosper while His children suffer. However, God knows! He knows what is best for us in every season of our lives. All we have to do is trust Him and walk in His ways. Meanwhile, the success and prosperity of the wicked are short-lived or temporary.
Noah was the only upright man during his time. He witnessed evil and corrupt people around him prosper for nearly 600 years. However, God in His perfect time, eradicated all evil, preserving only righteous Noah and his descendants.
As children of God, we are set apart from the world and called to walk uprightly. Our inheritance is not fleeting worldly pleasures but eternal bliss. Even amid calamities, we will remain steadfast in God’s care and protection. “Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV).
So today, examine your ways and choose to walk uprightly in the eyes of your Creator!
