Jeremiah 33:3 – “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”
Our God is so accessible, so available, so ready to communicate and reveal unknown things to us. He who created all things, visible and invisible, revealed and hidden – things that we know, things that we do not know or understand – mighty, secret, magnificent, inaccessible, incredible things.
We must seek the LORD, while He may be found; call on Him while He is near (Isaiah 55:6); We must come and pray to Him, and He will listen to us (Jeremiah 29:12).
Jeremiah was in prison when God spoke to Him, encouraging him to pray, to call upon Him, maybe to remind the prophet that He had not forgotten His promise of restoration of Jerusalem. How easy it is for us to forget the promises that the LORD has given us, either because we lack faith, or because we forget them, or because we don’t fully comprehend their meaning, or because of our trials and current circumstances.
Our God is a good God, and He is our God forever and ever. He neither slumbers nor sleeps. He has known each one of us in a still unformed shape. He knows our every thought. He knows that everything works together for our own good. He inclines His ears and hears us. And He has a perfect plan to reveal to us.
All we need to do is seek and ask through prayer. And He is always ready to answer us. Great and hidden things that we have not known.
