My Keeper and Gardner

Isaiah 27:3 – “I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day.”

Those who enjoy gardening know that it takes time and tender care to keep a plant growing and know the wonderful feeling when the flowers or fruits come. The plant has to be in an ideal location, receiving the right amount of sunlight and water.  Too much wind can break the stems and the petals can fall.

As a flower in a garden, we are constantly tended by our God.  He watches us, gives us life and sustenance, provides us with our every need.  Keeps and guides us.  We are protected by Him, and we have the promise that He will keep watch over us night and day.  Isaiah 58:11 reads that (we) will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

We are constantly being ‘watered’, planted by ‘streams of living water’, being nourished by our God, and if we believe in Jesus, these ‘streams of living water’ will flow from us. (John 7:38)

Thank you Lord Jesus for keeping watch over me every day and every night, in times of plenty and in times of drought, for being my provider, for constantly protecting me from every evil.  I want to remain in You, and You to remain in me, so that I can bear much fruit.
