God of the Impossible

Mark 10:27 NKJV

Jesus said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.“

“It is impossible for me!” is a common remark we use or hear. But there is nothing impossible for our God. Isn’t that a very comforting truth? He is called El-Shaddai, which means God Almighty. Nothing is too difficult for our Lord (Jeremiah 32:27).

He created all things, seen and unseen, with His Word. Creation is still running the way it does because God keeps it going. There is nothing beyond His control. He divided the sea, brought water out of rocks, and stopped the sun and moon in the sky. He made the blind see, the lame walk, and the mute speak. He raised the dead, cast out demons, and silenced the wind and the storm. Can we not trust Him to help us in our impossibilities?

The unassailable human impossibilities are overcoming death and receiving eternal life, and God granted us both. We become spiritually sick when infected by sin and hence cannot stand before a Holy God. But by putting our faith in Christ’s death and resurrection, death becomes mere sleep, and eternal life becomes a sure hope (Romans 6:23). When we come to Him just as we are, He makes us a new creation.

When life gets tough and exhausting, we may forget the truth about God. We could be praying and waiting on Him for numerous years without receiving any answers. Without giving up hope, let us humble ourselves and plead, “Help me overcome my unbelief” (Mark 9:24). We have an amazing God who delights in intervening in impossible situations for His children. He is limitless!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for making me Your child and reminding me of the truth of Your Word. You are a God who makes impossible things possible for me. I know I am not on my own. I love You, Lord! Thank You for being mine. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
