Ecclesiastes 2:26 – “For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight…”
Solomon was one of the wisest men who ever lived. And yet, even he made some very foolish decisions in his life. We see a lot of wise, knowledgeable people around us in the world today. But many of them still lack peace and joy in their lives. Being intelligent and having a lot of head knowledge isn’t always profitable in the long run. It’s what’s in your heart that matters.
When you commit yourself to the Lord Jesus Christ and allow Him to reign in your heart, He will grant you divine wisdom which will put the wisdom of this world to shame. The verse above confirms that God gives wisdom, knowledge and joy to those who are good in His sight. You don’t have to be legalistic to be good in God’s sight. You only need to accept the righteousness Jesus purchased for you on the cross and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you on a daily basis.
When the Lord gives you wisdom, He will not add sorrow to it. Rather, the riches of His wisdom will bring you joy and cause you to make decisions that will bring glory to His Name. Do not seek the wisdom of this world; seek the Lord and He will make you wise. Ask the Lord for wisdom in areas that you lack and He will give liberally.
