Great peace has those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble. Psalm 119:165
A law is a system of rules and regulations created and enforced by a governing authority to regulate behavior within a society. Laws are designed to maintain order, protect individual rights, and ensure justice. You can see there are constitutional, civil, criminal, contact, and various types of laws present. Perceive it as a boundary that is placed for our safety, without which the consequences are inevitable.
God’s laws came into written effect on Mount Sinai. Our all-powerful God met Moses and handwrote the laws on two tables. Also, He spoke all the other laws, which was for the safety, growth, prosperity, and justice of the Israelites. Now, turn the clock to our present day. Those laws and commandments are still valid, and true. Sin is when we violate God’s laws. Eg. the law tells us not to commit adultery, and those who do, suffer the consequences of unwholesome family life.
Naturally, we don’t like to be told, or stopped from doing what we want, because we have a will of our own. God did not give us free will to violate His laws, but to live by them. Moreover, the verse is encouraging us to love God’s laws. We generally love things that are dear and precious to us. Such should be our attitude even when it comes to our Heavenly Father’s laws. The results will follow in every area of our lives – morally, physically, professionally, emotionally etc.
Thus, we must live by His divine wisdom, and willingly choose to abide by His laws.
