Hossana in the Highest

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night. Psalm 92:1-2

When God created heaven and earth, He acknowledged its goodness after six days of creation. He allowed Adam to name all living animals and instructed him to rule over all creation. Thousands of years passed, and God, through Abraham and his descendants, chose a family, a lineage. He provided His laws and commandments for protection and blessings.

Following His ordained plan, Jesus came to earth in human form to fulfill His purpose.

Before His crucifixion, Jesus announced His journey to Jerusalem, where He would be betrayed and handed over to the rulers for crucifixion. On a particular morning, Jesus instructed His disciples to find a colt or donkey, which they brought to Him. He rode the donkey for a triumphal entry into Jerusalem. As He entered, people waved palm leaves and spread their clothes, singing “Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest,” glorifying God and recognizing Him as the Savior. The term “Hosanna” is derived from the Hebrew phrase “hoshia na,” meaning “save, we pray” or “save, please.”

Our purpose is to give thanks to the Lord and sing praises in His name. To love Him with our heart, mind, soul, and strength. He is the Most High God, and there is none greater. Let us declare His loving kindness in the morning and His faithfulness at night. Throughout the day, He protects us through His wisdom, word, and presence. He covers us, even at night, when His angels watch over and protect us. He is a good God. Amen.
