God’s Everlasting Covenant

Jeremiah 32:40 – “And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.”

God made a covenant with the Israelites that even though they may scattered across many countries, He would bring them back to their land. We’re living in an age where that promise is being fulfilled. As children of God, grafted into His family, we too are partakers of God’s covenant.

In today’s verse, God promises that He will not turn from doing good for His people. He will put His fear in our hearts so we will worship Him in awe and reverence – not fearing His wrath, but living in the freedom of His tough love. God has given us the Holy Spirit, His persona in us, to guide, correct, teach and turn our hearts towards Him.

When you are tuned to the voice of the Holy Spirit, you will hear Him directing your ways. He will convict you when you go astray, and bring you back into His perfect will for you. The Lord will always remain faithful to the covenant He’s made with you. When you trust God and surrender your life into His hands, you can be sure He will look after you for eternity.
