The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. Psalm 34:15(NKJV)

In the Hebrew language, different words describe different types of cries. The specific word “cry” used here is a very personal plea for help. It is a cry for freedom from some trouble or to find release from a burden.

It is good to have a heart-to-heart talk with God. A cry from your heart reaches God’ eyes and ears.

David’s experience tells us that the eyes of God had been upon him when he faced many dangers. God’s ears were always open to his heartfelt cry. From a state of shame and fear, David advanced to being radiant in God. David encourages his people to join him in praising a God who saves and protects the downtrodden. This is an invitation, to draw near to God and taste the goodness of God.

This verse is a promise – God hears the cry of the righteous as they call on Him in faith. One is righteous only through the righteousness of Christ Jesus. No matter the severity of affliction we face, the Lord promises to redeem all who take refuge in Him. This verse offers comfort and hope in times of instability, crisis and distress.

Believe that the Lord hears and sees us in the good and the tough times. God protects and supplies us with good things because of His love for us.

God promises that His eyes are upon us and His ears are open to our cries. He is with us and for us!
