GOD’S GOOD PROMISE

Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses.

1 Kings 8:56

After the ark of the Lord’s covenant was brought from Zion King Solomon discussed how God fulfilled his promises to David and to the people of Israel. The Lord promised that Solomon would sit on the throne of Israel, and since God delivered this word, Solomon sang his praises. The Lord had kept every promise he’d made, including helping the Israelites flee Egypt. So, during his prayer of dedication to the ark, Solomon made it clear that he expected God to continue fulfilling his promises, as he had in the past.

If you fear that God won’t deliver on the good promises he made to you, reflect on Solomon’s prayer.

God’s promises can be found throughout the scriptures where He is continually inviting us to the place of rest through His promise, Where we are refreshed, and rejuvenated from within.

Each one has a definition of rest that he or she falsely believes brings rest. Often we don’t truly experience rest because consciously or subconsciously we pursue something that promises us rest but does not deliver it. The Bible considers anything we pursue above Christ to be an idol.

How can we overthrow these idols and place Christ at the centre of the heart’s desires? The answer is repentance. Only through repentance and faith, can we experience the deep rest that God desires to give us.

If God you have a promise from God, then believe it. He Is Faithful and Just. In His time it will come to pass. We can experience rest in our waiting when we go to God in humility, repentance, and trust that he will fulfil everything He has promised.
