2 Corinthians 12:10 NKJV
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Paul, the great apostle of God, lived with a thorn in his flesh, a severe affliction. He pleaded with God three times to remove it, but instead, God responded – “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” This encouraged Paul to take pleasure in his weaknesses and hardships. Through his struggles, Paul witnessed the resurrection power of Christ being manifested.
In today’s verse, Paul reminds us that when we feel weak, we are actually strong. Often, in those areas in our lives that we perceive as weaknesses, God demonstrates His supernatural strength. If we don’t give up in those moments, we will experience God’s amazing grace. The trials and tribulations we face reveal the power of God within us. God is backing us up through every mountain we climb.
Jesus also suffered thorns, yet He chose to surrender to God’s will. His sacrifice brought us redemption for the greater glory of God! Our Saviour overcame every curse and conquered death. So, as His children, we stand on victory ground.
While God does not promise a life free of pain, He does promise never to leave us alone. His grace and favor are sufficient for us to face every thorn that comes our way. Job never gave up on God through all his suffering and pain (Job 1:20-21). What the devil means for evil, our God turns for good!
What thorns are you facing today; are they worse than those of Paul or Job? Remember, child of God, His grace is enough for you!
All the Glory to our Almighty Father Thank you Jesus 🙏
