Gospel, the power of God

Romans 1:16:  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth: to the Jew first, and also to the Greeks.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is not a condemning one.  It is about the love that God has for us, sinners and it also speaks about a God who is willing to accept us just as we are.  It is the power of God for people to be set free from sin and to everyone who believes Him irrespective of who they are or from where they come.  That is the reason for Paul to boldly declare what he has declared.

Many of us shy away from speaking about God to our friends.  We try our best not to bring our beliefs out to people who are in the world.  Paul was a little different or a whole lot different from any one of us.  He preached the gospel both in season and out of season.  He loved to preach about God to anyone who was willing to listen.  Never grow tired of the good news of Jesus Christ.  Leading someone to God is like leading that person to life eternal.  If we have to shine like stars, then we have to spread the good news to everyone.

Let us never hinder the power of God in working in other people’s lives.  Always be a channel of blessing for people who are lost in their own ways, in sin, in confusion, in doubt, in fear, in insecurity.  Be the light that shines out in the darkness.  Don’t you ever be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Ask God to help you spread His love and His saving power.  Be blessed.
