Psalm 59:17
To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises; For God is my defense, My God of mercy.
King Saul openly declared that he intended to kill David after which David lived as a fugitive for over a decade. During this time, there would have been a constant threat to David’s life. Yet, it is in that period that David wrote Psalms such as this.
How’s your life doing today? You might not be living as a refugee or in captivity, but if you are living in fear, take heart and lift up your praises to the Lord. Is your life at stake because of a sickness, or your reputation at risk because of false accusations or your future uncertain because of the inconvenient situation you’re stuck in? It’s time to fight your battles whether mental, emotional or spiritual with the weapon of your melody. Open your mouth and sing of His majesty. Declare that the Lord is your Strength, your Defense and is the Lord of mercy. He forgives all your shortcomings and does not treat you as your sins deserve. Is the arm of the Lord too short or too weak to save you or His ear too dull to hear your cry? Lean on Him for He will silence every voice that rises against you. No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper.
Beloved, THIS is your heritage as HIS child: Peace, righteousness, security and triumph is yours through Christ Jesus! He is your vindicator. Walk in Him with integrity, trusting without wavering in His goodness and mercy. Cling on to His promises and keep declaring songs of deliverance, for He WILL COME AND SAVE YOU!
