Romans 8:26
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
The Holy Spirit is God’s presence living in every believer. He isn’t just a helper; He’s a friend, comforter, guide, and advocate. One of the most beautiful roles of the Spirit is revealed in this verse—He prays for us.
As humans, we all face weaknesses—times of fear, doubt, grief, confusion, or just feeling spiritually dry. Life gets overwhelming. And sometimes, we don’t even know what to say to God. Words fail. Emotions run deep. But the Holy Spirit steps in.
Intercession means standing in the gap—speaking or pleading on someone’s behalf. That’s what the Holy Spirit does for us: He brings our deepest needs and burdens to the Father, even when we can’t find the words ourselves.
The Bible gives us a powerful example in Moses, who interceded for Israel when they sinned(Exodus 32:11-14). He begged God to forgive them, and God listened. Jesus, too, intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father(Romans 8:34).
If the Spirit intercedes for us, we are also called to intercede for others. When someone’s hurting, lost, or can’t pray for themselves, your prayer can lift them up.
So today, if you feel weak—know the Spirit is already praying for you. And if someone around you is struggling, take a moment to pray for them too.
Even when we fall silent, heaven still hears.
please pray for me. I don’t know how to move forward. I have depression, anxiety and fear.
Dear Brother,
Isaiah 43: 2
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
Believe in God and His promises. Speak out His Word in faith and every anxiety and fear will flee.
He is for you and He is on your side.
Blessings!
