We are living in a world where immoral and pagan culture is continuously being fueled into our brains. The misconception of LGBTQ is being embraced and taught to kids. Self-love is prioritized over love your neighbor as yourself, and the thought of life after death is sacrificed over the YOLO (You Only Live Once) concept. It is preposterous to take cues from the world.
Being in the world, it is easy for the earthy nature of sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed to consume us. However, the Bible reminds us, that we are in the world but not of the world. As believers, “we are a new creation. The old has passed, and behold, the new is here”. Your life now is hidden in Christ. You have the freedom and liberty to set your mind on the things above, which means to think about heavenly things. Setting your mind means allowing your thoughts to influence your goals and guide your action. So give up anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
