No matter what

God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn. Psalm 46:5

Despite the fact that life is unpredictable, we place a lot of faith in the world around us. Parents start saving for their children’s college without knowing the decisions the child will make. With the hope of having a stable financial future, We buy houses, cars, and other luxuries. Believing there will be no natural calamities, we plan hiking trips and vacations. Faith is powerful. It eliminates fear and instills confidence. If we can rely on transient, earthly things, how much more should we trust in the Almighty God, who never fails?

Psalm 46 is a description of God and a confession based on His character. And today’s devotional is an outcome of the psalmist’s faith and confidence in God, our ever-present help. And not just help, but God is more than that. Where there seems to be no respite, He is a gentle stream of water that makes us glad. No matter what we go through, He is aware of them all. Have you lost your job? Be assured that He’s already reserved a better position before your pink slip came in. Are you on the verge of losing your home? Know that you are ready to move into a palace that God is decorating to suit your taste.

Troubles are a given in this broken world. The rivers will go dry, and the earth below will shake and crack. You may feel that the world is conspiring against you but remember, just at the dawn of the day, no matter what, God’s help WILL come and make you glad.
