John 1:12 NKJV
“As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”
Children inherit not only the genes of their parents but also their physical resemblance. From the moment they enter the world, children are rightfully recognized as the offspring of their parents. When we accept Jesus as our Savior and repent of our sins, we immediately receive the privilege of being called sons and daughters of God (John 1:12).
Just as earthly parents forgive their children’s mistakes, our Heavenly Father offers us grace. Also, He chooses not to remember our sins (Isaiah 43:25). The Bible reminds us that God knew us even before we were conceived (Jeremiah 1:5). We were always an idea in the mind of our Heavenly Father. He chose us from the very beginning to be called His own.
In times of need or difficult moments, we must remember that God watches over us, fully aware of our struggles. His Word assures us, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). If earthly parents want the best for their children, how much more does God desire good for His children (Matthew 7:11)?
It’s essential to recognize that we are children of our Heavenly Father, our Creator and God. When we acknowledge this truth, we find it easier to navigate life’s challenges. Let’s place our confidence in the One who can transform our circumstances and guide us through every trial.
