Psalm 97:10 KJV “Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.”
The Lord of the Holy Bible is often referred to as, the epitome of love and righteousness. He is known to reign over the earth with kindness, mercy and love, above everything else.
The above verse reminds us of God’s immaculate character and encourages us to be more like Him. When Lord Jesus became flesh and lived amongst us, He operated through love. His teachings and actions prove beyond doubt that He stands for that which is good and rejects what is evil.
If we claim to love and serve this wonderful God, then it should come as no surprise that the same behaviour is excepted from us too. Walking in the path of righteousness and condemning evil brings us close to God and earns us His unfailing favour. He sets us apart from others and sanctifies us with His precious blood. He holds us close to Him and saves us from destruction. He delivers us from every situation and gives us victory over our enemies.
Our Lord Jesus is aware that we live in a sinful world, and it is easy to fall prey to it. However, those who have experienced His supreme love can easily overcome evil and abstain from sin. Are you troubled by evil thoughts and finding it hard to give up on your wicked ways? Today may be a good day to surrender your weaknesses to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and renounce those old evil habits. If we have chosen Christ, then we are on the right track.
