Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
A young woman who grew up in a household filled with negativity and criticism towards her abilities was preparing to face the CEO of a company in an interview. Despite her past experiences and doubts, she held onto the belief that although she may not be sufficient on her own, with the help of God she can do all things and find strength. The only thought running through her mind was, “ Lord, I may not be sufficient, but I know that YOU are able, I believe I can do all things through YOU who gives me the strength.”.
This is the confidence of every child of GOD, especially during difficult times such as financial struggles, unemployment, relationship issues, or health problems. In times of turmoil, Jesus is our anchor who keeps us grounded and steadfast.
We are often bombarded by opinions from the society that suggest we are inadequate, and our own inner dialogue can lead us to question our abilities. However, we must learn to tune into the voice of the Holy Spirit, which reminds us that we are not only conquerors but more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. With His strength, we can accomplish anything we set our minds to.
Therefore, we must not succumb to fear but move forward confidently in our faith, trusting that Jesus will provide us with the strength to overcome our inhibitions. Let us reflect on this powerful verse and allow Jesus to fill us with His strength so that we may emerge victorious. Amen.
