Jesus- Our Living Hope

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.”

What brings hope? The world has taught us that hope comes from finances, good health, education, status and power. This is only partially true because they are all temporary and cannot sustain us for long. Building our hopes on such materialistic and perishable things will lead to disappointments.

The above verse is a revelation that all good things come from our Lord Jesus Christ. In Him there is no fear, discouragement or hopelessness. He is known as the light of the world for a reason. Just like light breaks through darkness and makes things visible, Christ in our lives can penetrate through our deepest wounds bringing forth healing, hope and revelation. Hope is important as it brings happiness, peace and improves the quality of life. When we build our hope in Christ and His goodness, the future which once looked bleak, gets a new perspective.

Are you afraid of what lies ahead of you? Well, your fear ends here. You don’t have to put your trust on astrologers, crystal balls and tarot readers. Put your trust in Jesus, who is more than able to provide for all your needs now and forever. Be encouraged and rest in His word. This is more than a promise, it’s an assurance. The world and the people of this world cannot give us hope, only Christ can.
