Jesus says, Come

Matthew 11:28 – “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

It is not always easy to approach people in authority. Government officials have several layers of security. If you want to meet someone important, you will have to go through many deputies in order to just get an appointment. One can only imagine all the hoops you have to jump through to have a conversation with the American president or the queen of England. But what a different experience it is to approach the King of kings and Lord of lords?!

Jesus gave us an open invitation… “Come to me,” He said. But do we? Often it’s our friends or family we turn to for help. We tend to depend on our own wisdom or abilities to sort things out. We often neglect the quiet whisper of Jesus telling us to just come to Him.

Are you feeling down and discouraged? Do you feel there’s no end to the troubles you’re facing? Are you overwhelmed with all your roles and responsibilities? Do you often find yourself lacking true joy and peace? Jesus says, “Come to me.” You are a child of the Living God, and He wants you to approach Him just as you are. You have an open invitation – make the best use of it. Reach out to Jesus; allow Him to lighten your burden and give you true rest.
