John 12:45-46 NIV

The One Who looks at Me is seeing the One Who sent Me. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in Me should stay in darkness.

Jesus’s words in John 12:45-46 remind us that He is not only the way to the Father but also the Light that shines into our lives. When we look to Jesus, we see the very heart of God—a heart full of love, compassion, and truth. Jesus assures us that darkness has no hold over us when we believe in Him. Whatever we face, we are invited to come into His light, leaving behind the shadows of fear, sin, and despair.

Charles Spurgeon once said, “The nearer we come to God, the more graciously will He reveal Himself to us.” When we accept Jesus as the Light, we not only grow closer to God but also begin to see our lives and our circumstances through His perspective. Jesus shines His light to expose and heal every part of us, bringing peace and freedom.

Jesus calls us to believe in Him, and He cautions that those who do will not stay in darkness. As Psalm 27:1 declares, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?” This is our assurance in Christ: He dispels our darkness, guides us with His love, and offers us a new way of living as children of Light.
