Psalm 65:11

You crown the year with Your bounty, and Your paths overflow with plenty

Millions of people right now are making resolutions. They are either composing a mental map of it or going the extra mile of journaling it. Many share it with family and friends, while some like to keep it to themselves. Multitude today will resolve on being fit. Eating patterns will change, and gym memberships will rise. Numerous people will start recalculating their expenses. They will open spreadsheets and plan their yearly budgets. Ideas of new hobbies will take birth, promises of conquering addictions will kick in, and a desire for career growth will take roots.

Resolutions are good. They guide us to become a better version of ourselves. In fact, the Bible encourages us to review our lives and resolve to change what is necessary. As Christians, we should plan our year. This year, let me encourage you to do it to the glory of God. By doing so, you will be among those who accomplish their resolution. The psalmist understood this well to praise God by saying, “You crown the year with Your bounty, and Your paths overflow with plenty” – Psalm 65:11

When you commit your year to God, this is the promise. He will crown it with bounty. All that you intend to achieve for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ will overflow with plenty. When your resolution of a healthy lifestyle or finance management or relations or whatever you aim for glorifies God’s goodness and faithfulness, He is gracious to partner with you. To give you strength and keep you on the right path.

As we enter 2022, remember His grace and mercy towards us. He shows us the path of life, and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore. Keeping this in mind, let us resolve to keep the joy that comes with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Let our joy be contagious and touch people’s hearts and reveal Jesus in us.
