Psalms 29:2
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.
This verse can be broken down into 3 parts for better understanding.
Firstly, our calling or our life’s purpose is devotion to God. Secondly, why worship the Lord? and finally the way of worship.
Know the purpose: Our purpose in life is to be devoted to God and to bring Him glory. Isaiah 43:7 indicates the reason for our existence. We are created in the image of God. Just like any branch cannot bear fruit without its roots, our life cannot become purposeful without God. Worship can turn out the most wretched condition into a magnificent time.
Secondly, we worship God because it is, He who made us, Psalms 100:2&3. It is impossible to know God and yet not worship Him. Just the very fact that we wake up each morning to experience a new day should fill us with awe and wonder. We should reflect on the Psalmist’s question in Psalms 8:4-6. In 1John 4:19, We love the Lord Jesus Christ because He first loved us. Acknowledging God brings us to the place of giving Him glory and worship
Finally, live a life that glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ, which not just a ‘Sunday thing’ or a Church activity. We are to glorify God in all that we do (1 Peter 4:10-11 and 1 Corinthians 10:31). We are creatures of habit; the majority of our life comprises of habits or routines. The more we intentionally cultivate a habit to please and obey our Lord Jesus Christ the more we can amplify His Glory in and through our lives.
Let our lives reflect the love of our Lord Jesus Christ!
