Lack wisdom? Bend your knees!

James 1:5—”If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”

What is your relationship with God? Is God your ATM, your blessing-giver, your run-to in times of trouble, your go-to when your need list grows? For most of the above, we must realize that troubles, our needs, trials, relationship problems, children’s attitude differences, etc may be provided by God. God maybe testing our faith in Him. If we display joy while we persevere or stay persistent in believing God; if we know that He will bring us out of our situation, we will grow in our steadfastness/patience of waiting for Him. We are sure to witness a mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way but perfect, complete and lacking nothing result because God took His time to prepare our result.

Let’s back up a bit. Did we read ‘If we display joy’? Does it mean while going through our trials? Yes. If we are in God; if we truly trust God, why would we need to feel anything else but joy? Is worry an option if we know that our God has the ability to change our situation or is preparing our result?
Furthermore, while we wait we must stay obedient to the Word. How do we gauge right and wrong? Do we have enough discernment and wisdom for this? If the answer is no, what is stopping you? Go to God, your Father, and ask Him for wisdom. God waits to give wisdom generously to those who ask without finding fault. If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. Ask boldly in faith. If you doubt, don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master. If you behave that way, when you keep all your options open, you will be considered as double-minded and unstable in all you do.

Do you fear that you may not succeed? The promise is, ‘to any that asks, it shall be given’. If you have a mind that has a single-track regard for spiritual growth, for life ever; and if it keeps steady in its purposes for God, it will:
– grow wise through afflictions
– continue in devotion fervently
– rise above trials and oppositions!
With God-given wisdom and revelation knowledge, we will be able to be the head and not the tail – the first and not the last – as intended by God when He designed us. “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall rise up with wings like eagles in the sky, they shall run and not be weary, they shall not and not faint. Teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait.”
