Proverbs 10:12 – Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins.
Hate is an emotion that you feel towards someone or something that you dislike strongly. When you dislike someone so strongly, everything about them stirs up anger in you and elevates the feeling of hate. When you hate, you begin to enjoy the quarrels, arguments, and conflict with the person. You bring up the past and wrongdoings of others repeatedly.
In Ephesians 4:31, the Bible tells us to remove all bitterness, wrath, and anger away from us. We must replace these with feelings of love and forgiveness of sins.
Our God is a God of love, His love is unconditional. Just like Jesus has taught us, we must learn to love everyone. When you love someone, your love should cover and conceal their sins. You must love them irrespective of who they are, and what they have done. Love does not bring up past sins. We must love just like our Lord Jesus loves us. We must forgive the sins of the ones we love.
Proverbs 17:9 teaches us that the one who forgives and forgets the sins of another shows love but a person who brings up past mistakes and sins repeatedly, ends relationships.
Let’s look to the Lord at this time, to seek His strength to remove hatred from our hearts. To love others and forgive their sins, just the way the Lord forgives our sins. Help us Lord to be builders of strong relationships that have a foundation of love and forgiveness.
