Galatians 2:20
“It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.“
Let us understand the context of Galatians. Galatians is a letter to the church in the area of Galatia (modern-day Turkey). Many churches at that time were influenced by false teachers who were saying that all Christians, whether Gentile or Jewish, had to obey Jewish laws. Paul wrote a blazing letter to set them straight.
We are saved by the grace and love of Jesus, not because we keep the laws. Knowing that we are saved by God’s grace and not by what we accomplish is liberating.
The scripture explains that Christ died for our sins. By demonstrating our faith, we trust that His death on the cross was for our personal sin. Our sins are crucified with Him. The sinful “us” is now replaced by the resurrected Christ “in us.”
Of course, we still live in the flesh, but our lives are now guided by our faith in Christ rather than by the laws that used to govern them.
For those who believe that the law can make a person righteous, what did Jesus die for on the cross?
The whole essence of Jesus’ suffering for us on the cross was to set us free from the old us and give a new life. It is no longer the old you who lives, but Christ who lives in you.
Amen 🙏 Beautiful message .thank you jesus for your precious life that you have given for me n for my family.
