1 Kings 8:23 – “And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart.”
The beauty of true Christianity is that it’s not just a religion, and the Bible is not a set of do’s and don’ts. Rather, it’s a dazzling portrayal of an incredible God who showers His amazing love on His children, time and again. Yes, God is just and requires obedience, but the relationship we have with Him is based, not on fear but on love.
It’s the father’s love that draws the child back, even after he’s been disciplined. In the same way, God does allow us to go through trials to refine our faith. But when we understand the unconditional love He has for us, we know He’s got our best interest at heart.
Our sins nailed Jesus to the cross, but it was His love for us that kept Him there. It is this love that separates Christ from all the other million gods that are worshiped around the world. Nobody else loves us enough to take our punishment and die for our mistakes. But Jesus did! Our only response can be to love Him back through the good days and the bad, and praise Him for having mercy on us.
