Daniel 2:20
“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His.“
To give a gist of the background of today’s verse, King Nebuchadnezzar had a startling dream. The king commanded the wise men of Babylon to interpret it or face execution. There was panic and fear all over the place. But Daniel and his three friends prayed, trusted in the Lord and responded to the situation with wisdom.
The Lord heard their request and answered their prayers. Daniel had the wisdom and understanding to explain the visions that God showed him, and straight away, he lifted his voice to God in heaven with praise and thanksgiving.
We can learn from Daniel here that even when everyone around him was panicking, he chose to trust the Lord and acted with wisdom. He acknowledged that God alone could give him this understanding. He was not proud or did not consider himself superior to his three friends. Instead, he humbly praised the Lord and offered his thanksgiving, knowing it was because of God that he did this.
In the world we’re living today, where there is panic and anxiety all around us, it is important that we seek the Lord. We need to acknowledge that without Him, we can do nothing, but we can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us. Amid difficulties, we need to remember that our God is way ahead, and He already has a plan and purpose for those who trust Him.
When we lack it, He is there to provide us with knowledge and wisdom to guide us further. When we win, let us glorify the Lord in our success. Without Him, we are nothing.
