Psalm 26:12

My foot stands in an even place; In the congregations I will bless the Lord.

Psalm 26:12 is the closing verse of that chapter, and it speaks a lot about David’s life. His life is an ideal example of sincere commitment to God. Though he was not perfect, his faith in God was unwavering.

“My foot stands in an even place”- here, David is expressing his confidence in the Lord, Who is his sure foundation. However, wicked people stand on shaky grounds and will soon be wiped away by God’s judgment.

In life’s journey, we will be tested and will most likely end up in situations that do not favor us. During the difficult phases of life, where is our confidence placed? Is it on people, our circumstances, opinions, or on God?

The Greek philosopher Heraclitus quoted -“Change is the only constant.” The quote pretty much defines the world we live in today. Our God is faithful when everything is changing around us. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

When we place our trust, in the Lord, our feet will stand in an even place. Irrespective of our situation, we will praise the Lord because our foundation is based on God’s word and His love for us.
Like David, let us learn to be confident in His love and presence.
