Ephesians 5: 1 -2
“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.”
The Lord was always zealous and joyful when he saw a child. He welcomed children with open hands as if he had known them already. Sometimes it is a wonder that today as adults we rebuke, ignore and look away from children. We do not give him/her any importance because we think, ‘What would a child know’? However, why did Jesus not think in the like manner? In fact, he said that the kingdom belongs to such as ‘them’.
We always say Jesus sees the heart. But we forget that, in the heart of a child lies this innocent truth. Have you watched a child anytime? It will always bring a smile to your face. Cause even as an adult you know the impression of a true heart.
To become a follower of Jesus Christ, one does not need to go to a Bible college, or read his word and memorise every verse, neither show one’s dedication through attending the service etc. To become a follower of JESUS CHRIST we need to have a heart, that of a child. Behaving like a child and having a heart of a child are two different things. Behaviour can be altered, not the heart. A true heart when loves, it loves through all. A true heart when follows, it follows through all. A true heart when obeys, it obeys through all. And that’s why only a childlike heart will know. It will know the true GREAT I AM.
