Proverbs 11:25
“The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.“
Today’s scripture emphasizes the virtue of generosity. The same is taught by our savior Jesus, in Luke 6:38 – “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
God loves a cheerful giver. Here, giving is not just a treasure but also talent and time. Being generous while giving to God or His people benefits us in turn(Matthew 10:42). Nobody can be as generous as our Father, who gave His only Son as a ransom for our sins to redeem us back. Our lives testify every day to His never-ending, never giving up love and mercy. Indeed, He is generous.
God’s generosity should encourage us to give our time, talent, and treasure to God and God’s people. Our generosity will surely be rewarded. Moreover, we will not lack anything and will be refreshed. Therefore, it is better to give than to receive.
