Our Hearts are Set on You Lord

Matthew 5:8: Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

Some people give generously to others, they pray, and read the Bible regularly, they speak in the sweetest of tones, and look to make friends everywhere there go. However, they still wonder why their prayers are not answered or why they are not prosperous and successful. Could it be that while outwardly they are doing all the right deeds, it’s not something they are doing from their heart?

Throughout the Bible, we see how important our heart is to God. He does not look at our actions as they could be misleading. He looks at our hearts because our hearts hold our true feelings. Rather than focus on worldly things, our hearts must be set to God. When we allow God into our lives, His Spirit cleanses us and delivers us from sin.

As children of God, sometimes, we may still fall into temptation and give into worldly pleasures but by letting God into our lives we allow Him to work on us through the Holy Spirit that gives us wisdom and discernment. We have knowledge of what is right or wrong in the eyes of God and we rely on God to keep us away from wrong.

God cleanses us and makes our hearts pure and once our hearts are set on God and God alone, we will see His Power and Glory and be blessed.
