Matthew 19:26
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Earlier Mathew 19 shows Jesus’ teaching of salvation. A rich man wanted to know what good to be done to attain eternal life. When Jesus asked him to forsake his everything and follow Jesus, the rich man turned away. We read in Matthew 19:22 that a rich man was sorrowful for he had great possessions. He loved his possessions more than God. He had idolized his wealth and status.
Not just rich man, we too sometimes hold on to our prejudices or treasures of this life. By doing so we might miss the freedom that Christ Jesus has to offer. Hence Jesus says “With men it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Salvation is impossible with man because man is limited. Man cannot deliver himself from the consequences of sin which leads to death and separation from God.
Salvation is only possible by the grace of God. We cannot save ourselves, we need Christ to save us because we are sinful. Our good works are not enough to take us to heaven. The only ticket to heaven is Salvation through Christ.
Therefore, if we know that we need His saving grace, we desire eternal life both now and for eternity, Let us welcome Christ to be our Lord and Savior. Let us embrace the truth that He ransomed Himself for us and lead a life glorifying His name. Amen.
Blessed Day Ahead.
