Psalm 95:2-3 NKJV
“Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is the great God, and the great King above all gods.”
Psalm 95 invites people to come before God with thanksgiving and praise.
We can envision the power of praise from the scriptures. For instance, when the Israelites marched around the wall of Jericho, they were shouting praises to God. Similarly, when an enemy approached, King Jehoshaphat appointed singers to walk in front of the army to praise and thank God, acknowledging the supreme power of God. The rest is history. In both incidents, when praises went up, the enemy came down.
In the first instance, the walls of Jericho fell down, and the Israelites were able to conquer the promised land. In the second incident, the Lord set the enemy armies against each other, and they killed each other. Hence, the Lord won the battle for the people of Judah.
The enemy may bring situations and people to tear you down, but take heart. The one whom you serve is Great and Mighty. He is above every problem. Nothing is difficult for Him. Come before His throne boldly singing praises and thanks to Him. The rest He will make history. Let us learn to develop a lifestyle of praise and thanksgiving to God in all seasons of our lives.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart of thanksgiving. Thank You for Your abundant love, mercy, and grace. You are the great God, the King above all kings, and I worship You with joy and reverence. Help me live each day with a heart of gratitude, recognizing Your presence and power in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
