Psalm 34:1
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
Psalm 34:1 speaks about David’s determination to celebrate God constantly. Constantly here means singing the praises of the Lord through thick and thin. David praises the Lord for delivering him from the Philistines, and he invites others to join him in singing joyfully to the Lord.
Anyone can praise and sing worship when they are blessed and good things are happening around them. It takes true strength and faith to seek and praise the Lord when things are falling apart. The Lord is good all the time but to believe that in sorrow and praise, His name during afflictions says a lot of our relationship with our Lord.
When Paul wrote to the Philippians, he was under arrest and chained by soldiers; he regarded his circumstances as serving the gospel (Phillippians 1:12). He rejoiced and praised the Lord throughout.
We can learn a lot from the attitude of David and Paul here, there will be a certain degree of good and bad in e everyone’s life but we need to remember that our God is the same. His Grace and Love for us will never change. Let us learn to praise Him in every situation and always believe Romans 8:18 (The pain that you have been feeling can’t be compared to the joy that is coming!).
