Psalm 91:9-10
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling
Have ever wondered what we do first when something goes wrong? When things don’t go well, we tend to panic, worry, and feel anxious instead of praying. In difficult situations, we forget God’s promise and protection.
When we place our hope and faith in the Most High, we will continue to live under his divine protection. Psalm 91 is a call to confidence in God because He has promised to protect us through thick and thin. Post-COVID, people are living on hope, a hope for a better tomorrow, because beyond that, who knows what will happen? But we, as believers, have nothing to worry about because our Lord is the Promise Keeper.
In Psalm 91:9–10, God promises two things if we make Him our dwelling place:
- No evil shall befall you.
- Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.
We live in a world where evil things happen to everyone, no matter how righteous we are; sometimes we end up in bad situations because of someone else’s sin. We absolutely have no control over external aspects, but there is one thing we can do, and that is to trust God and hold onto the promises He makes. Remember this: even through the trails, He is teaching us something. He is molding and refining us to be more like Him.
Let us learn to hold onto God’s promise that is with us and protects us from all evil; it will help us stand strong and face every circumstance with courage. To live God’s promises to the fullest is the best gift we can receive. Unwrap it and live boldly.
