Protection by the Most High

Psalm 91:4:  He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust; his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

God protects His children like how a mother hen would her chicks.  The hen broods over her young ones and protects them when a bird of prey is circling above their heads.  She lets out a warning sound when she sees the enemy around them.  As soon as the young chickens hear this warning sound, they run for their dear life to be covered under their mother’s wings.

There is warmth and a feeling of security when we run to God.  Whenever we are attacked by evil or down with a disease, or faced with any other kind of trouble, there is just one place of security and refuge.  That is the presence of God.  He will cover us in such a way that the enemy would not be able to spot us or the spot of our refuge.  Nobody dare trespass the protection that God has given to us.  Job had this hedge of protection all around him which made it impossible for Satan to intrude and destroy him, but when God allowed for Job to be tested, his family was under a seige.  Unless the devil tries and breaks off God’s protective cover from off us, we will be safe in His arms.  His truth shall be our shield and buckler.  God’s truth shall shield us from all kinds of deadly arrows that flies against us.  His promise to us that He will guide and protect us is truth enough, and this promise of truth will keep us safe from all dangers.

Make God your resting place, a safe haven, a place of refuge and comfort.  Make Him your “go-to” place in times of danger and upheaval.  May His truth always shield and protect you.
