2 Peter 1:3
“His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,“
God is the source of our strength and power which we need all days of our lives. From dawn to dusk it is His strength and power which sustains, enables, and empowers us. In 2 Peter 1:3 Peter, an apostle of Christ, encourages us that we, children of God, are been equipped with all things to life and godliness. It is His power that provides.
With such a blessed source why do we still fail to lead abundant life and honor and choose godliness?
It is because we fail to receive His power.
How do we receive His power?
It is through the knowledge of Him. As we grow in the knowledge of him, we have a constant and growing relationship with Him which allows His power to be active in our lives enabling us to lead abundant life and choose godliness. Then, choosing God-glorifying life will never be a task or responsibility to do, It will be our lifestyle which is natural and effortless.
Therefore recipe for life and godliness:
Begin with a Personal relationship with Jesus, and constantly keep stirring in Knowledge of Him through our prayer life and His word study. Add in enough trust and perseverance. Mix well and bake it with Loving Him with all our heart, with all our mind, and all our soul. Enjoy His power and strength served for life.
We are called by His glory and virtue. Through His Word, we can see that He always qualifies the called. All He expects from us is a willingness to say YES to Him and His ways. When we do so, His immeasurable power flows in and through us for His glory and honor. Our lives will magnify His name.
