Renewed Through Christ

2 Corinthians 4:16 “Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” 

The above verse is a proof that God is not oblivious of our pain and suffering. He knows that we live in a world dominated by sin and temptations. Lies and deceit comes naturally to us. Therefore, our misery and suffering reflect the poor choices and selfish decisions we make throughout our lives. So, does this mean, that we are stuck in our physical and mental distress forever? Absolutely not! Our Lord is just and compassionate. He is a God of second chances. He does not want anyone to perish due to their sinful lifestyle.  

This verse is a promise of reward and renewal for all who believe in His holy name and are willing to give up on their old sinful ways and adopt a life that is pleasing to Him in heaven. This promise does not negate the fact that we all live in this corrupt world, and pain is inevitable. However, it will not take us down, as God will sustain us. He will build us up through every situation. So, the next time you face hardship, don’t lose heart. You will overcome every strike of the enemy and not be weary as He is your strength. Remember you may be in this world, but you are not of this world. You belong to Him.
