Psalm 47:6-7 “Sing praises to God, sing praises: Sing praises unto our King, sing praises.  For God is the King of all the earth: Sing ye praises with understanding.”

Everyone likes to be appreciated. Whether it is in our workplace, our home, or our friend circle, appreciation gives us a sense of satisfaction and achievement. A simple act of gratitude can bring a smile on someone’s face and rightly so. If this is how much humans crave for praises, then it should come as no surprise that our Lord expects the same from us.

The above verse urges us to cultivate a lifestyle of praise. Praising God helps us to focus on Him and revel in His power. It is a way of honouring and trusting Lord above everything else. When we praise God, we get a better understanding of who He is and what he expects from His people. Praise is not just a way of acknowledging God’s goodness in our lives, it is also a powerful weapon against our enemy. Praise turns things around in our favour in the spiritual realm.

Still wondering if praising God is essential? Well, for one thing, it never goes unnoticed. God rewards a heart of praise and gratitude. Praise adds power to our prayers and creates an atmosphere in which God’s presence dwells and miracles happen.
