Safely bringing us home

And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen! 2 Timothy 4:18

Apostle Paul has endured and fought the good fight for the gospel. He has undergone physical and mental trauma. He has experienced loneliness and betrayal, and through it all, He has fulfilled his cause. He has enjoyed his suffering because of his constant unseen companion. He has foreseen corruption and foreseen many souls being saved.

The encouraging comment from Apostle Paul is just as applicable today as it was during those early times for the developing Christian church. The Almighty God has promised to bring everyone who puts their faith in Jesus to the security of His heavenly kingdom, so we may be sure that He will deliver us from every evil deed.

Despite the fact that we live in a sin-cursed world that is at odds with God and at war with His anointed Son, and despite the stunning corruption that permeates the highest levels of government, God is devoted to keeping all of the priceless promises He has made to those who are His. We may be seeing widespread human deception, utter scorn for the magnificent gospel of Christ, and hatred of God’s goods that is motivated by Satan. We don’t need to be terrified, though. Because of Christ’s victory on our behalf, we have the assurance that “the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen.”
