Knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:24
In this scripture, Paul talks about what is expected of us Believers: how to think, how to behave. For the Christian Home, he explained the ways of the wives, husbands, children, fathers, and Bondservants (because they were talking about the people living in those times in Colosse.)
For Bondservants or servants, Paul prescribed obedience to their master, for the integrity of work and doing their service unto God. To always do their work to please our Lord and not to please their masters because if they did their work in excellent standard to please our Lord, the ordinary standard of men would be achieved and then some more!
This applies to all of us also. Why? Because we are all meant to be Servant Leaders like our Lord Jesus. We are made in the image of God and are born to be like Jesus who came to the Earth as a man to model how we should live: in humility, to glorify God our Father, and to be ambassadors for His Kingdom.
We are children of God. We do not look at our manager or business partner for their approval or reward. Yes, as humans, we will feel appreciated if our work or effort is noticed but our eyes should be on pleasing God our Father. To wait on God for our reward as our inheritance of being His child because of our trust in Jesus.
Dear Lord, my eyes are fixed on You. Let my actions and work glorify Your name. The only recognition I need is to be called Your child. Give me the strength to follow in the path You have chosen for me, my Lord. Amen.
Praise be to God, thank you the reward you kept for me Lord God. Which can’t be priced. Nor measured. Beyond my own thoughts.
Loving Heavenly father thank you for your grace, mercy and sacrificial love.
In the might matchless name of Jesus let’s pray. Amen.
