Galatians 5:22-23 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”
Think about how much time is required for a tree to grow, first from a seed, passing through all the natural maturing processes, then finally bearing fruit. We are called to bear fruits of a very powerful nature, fruits of the Spirit of God.
The first fruit of the Spirit is love. God is love, and love has an amazing power to produce more Spiritual fruits namely: joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. It is doubtful that we would ever file a complaint against someone for being loving and kind, or for being gentle and good towards us. That is why against such there is no law.
When we believe in the Lord Jesus, His Spirit lives in us, and we become a “new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). The Spirit of God at work within us helps us to get rid of our old nature, which saddens the heart of God, and we start producing fruit and being transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, we begin to bear fruit that has an everlasting effect.
Let’s become massive spiritual trees, filled with fruits which seeds proceed from heaven, being watered by the river that flows from the very throne of God!
