“Both riches and honor come from You,And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might;In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all” : 1 Chronicles 29:12 (NKJV)
This verse from 1 Chronicles 29 is spoken by King David when his Son Solomon was about to be anointed as the next king of Israel. David in his lifetime had procured the complete raw materials required for the construction of the temple for the LORD, and just before saying the above verse, David had delivered all of his personal royal precious assets in addition to the many valuables that he had already procured.
King David in this verse, is reassuring to us that everything we have belongs to the LORD. He further says “ But who am I and who are my people that we should be permitted to give anything to you” It is so true that we can never give enough to our GOD. Our GOD is a BIG God. He is sovereign and so majestic that even the greatest kings and queens in history understood that all their greatness is God’s Blessings and God is the one giving them the strength to become strong rulers.
We have to engrave this verse in our hearts. We have to glorify God in our lives and not ourselves. Let GOD increase in us and our human pride, lust and sin decrease. For it is HE who makes us great and gives us strength.
