Psalm 46:10 NKJV
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Our human nature often urges us to overthink or overextend ourselves when faced with overwhelming situations. We think taking control will show others that we have got it all handled. But with God, the approach is different. When life feels chaotic, or the waiting seems endless, God calls us to be still and recognize His presence and power.
God’s work in our lives goes beyond just meeting our immediate needs. He uses these moments to reveal His limitless sovereignty and to display His glory for all to see. But this happens when we let go, stop striving, and allow God to take control. In our stillness, we surrender the idea that we must have all the answers/solutions, and trust that God is working behind the scenes for our good.
Being still doesn’t mean being inactive; it means having faith in God’s timing and His plan. Sometimes, the hardest part of faith is waiting. But in that quiet trust, God renews our strength, gives us peace, and prepares us for what is ahead. So today, whatever your situation, rest in the knowledge that God’s power and love are at work, even when you can’t see it. Be still and watch as He displays His glory in your life.
