Psalm 34:8 “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”
Throughout the Holy Bible, we see numerous instances where ordinary people have overcome extraordinary challenges and hardships, through the goodness of the Lord. God’s goodness is constant and does not change.
This same God who worked in their lives is working in our lives too. The above verse comes as a powerful, yet encouraging reminder that our Lord is worth an encounter. His goodness is abundant and eternal. Everything good comes from the Lord. It is due to His goodness that our sins are forgiven. It is His goodness that sustains us in times of trouble. And it is His goodness that protects us from harm and meets all our needs.
As the sun shines and the rain falls on both the righteous and the unrighteous, God’s goodness also falls on everyone without prejudice. But, when we receive Christ Jesus, His goodness flows in our lives. It creates an atmosphere for God to operate and take complete control. Through Him we get access to the special grace He reserves for those who make Him His refuge and safe ground.
Everyone on this earth has had a little taste of God’ goodness because He is good by nature and cannot help himself. But why settle for less, when you can have more. God’s abundant goodness is revealed and experienced by those who make a covenant with Him. So don’t hold back, because His goodness is worth the experience.
