John 8:12 – “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
Walking in the dark can be quite a scary experience. Even if the road is dimly lit by streetlights, we still wonder what lies in the shadows or lurks around a dark corner. However, it’s the exact opposite in the daytime when the sun shines brightly overhead. We have more confidence and walk boldly because there is no darkness when the sun is up.
Jesus is the light of the world, and when we accept His lordship, He becomes the light of our lives as well. Nothing is hidden from Him; He makes everything new and fresh. We have nothing to fear when our Light is near. It’s only when we walk away from the light that we are surrounded by darkness and lose our way.
Today, make the decision to follow Jesus with all your heart. He will light up your life and show you the way you should go. You need not fear whatever lies before you because the Lord Himself goes with you. Hold on to Him and allow Him to lead you into the glorious future He’s planned for you.
