Mark 6:41-42 – “And taking the five loaves and the two fish he looked up to heaven and said a blessing and broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the people. And he divided the two fish among them all. And they all ate and were satisfied.”
This is one of the large scale miracles Jesus performed on the earth, with thousands being blessed through a miraculous meal. Yes, Jesus did perform a miracle, but we cannot ignore the numerous little instances that led to the miracle.
There was a mother who got up in the morning, baked and packed her son’s lunch. There was a little boy who had a heart to give up his lunch because everyone else was hungry. There were disciples who obeyed Jesus and went through the crowd looking for food. Jesus thanked God for the little he had at the moment – the five loaves and two fish, even if it would not be sufficient to feed a crowd of over 5000 people.
Yes, miracles do originate from God. But it’s often the little things we do in our personal lives that pave the way for our miracle. Are you praying for a miracle? Look at the little things you can do to prepare for it. Thank God for what little you do have, and share it with someone who may be in need. Walk in obedience with God, and be willing to sacrificially offer what you have to Him. God will make a way for you to experience your miracle. And when that happens, you will be so abundantly blessed that you will not have room enough to contain it.
